A few months ago, I was fellowshiping with The LORD before an evening service out in Anaheim, Calif. I was having so much fun with Him that before I knew it, it was time for the meeting to start, and I hadn’t yet inquired about what He wanted me to preach. Realizing I didn’t have any idea what I was going to say to the people, I asked Him for direction. “LORD…?” I said. 'Just go do what I tell you to do,' He answered. When I heard that, I got excited! I learned a long time ago that simply listening to The LORD and doing what He says is the surest way there is to get supernatural results. It’s the key to releasing God’s miracle-working power—not only in church services but in every area of life. Think about the ministry of Jesus and you can see what I mean. His first miracle took place at a wedding. He, His mother and His disciples were guests at the event, and in the middle of the festivities the hosts ran out of wine. You remember the story. Mary took the problem to Jesus. “They have no more wine!” she said. “How does that concern you and me?” Jesus asked. “My time has not yet come” (John 2:4, "New Living Translation-96"). Determined to get the results she wanted, Mary seemingly ignored His question (mamas can get away with that; other people can’t) and, instead, turned to the servants who were standing nearby. “Whatever He says to you, do it,” she said (verse 5, "Amplified Bible, Classic Edition"). "Now there were six waterpots of stone standing there…holding twenty to thirty gallons apiece. Jesus said to [the servants], Fill the waterpots with water. So they filled them up to the brim. Then He said to them, Draw some out now and take it to the manager of the feast [to the one presiding, the superintendent of the banquet]. So they took him some. And when the manager tasted the water just now turned into wine, not knowing where it came from—though the servants who had drawn the water knew—he called the bridegroom and said to him, Everyone else serves his best wine first, and when people have drunk freely, then he serves that which is not so good; but you have kept back the good wine until now! John 2:11 3) Mary knew what to tell the servants because she had watched Jesus for years and He lived His entire life listening to and obeying His Father.
