Taking a Stand
“I worked on a team of 40 people for Caesars Entertainment Corporation, the largest gaming corporation in the world,” Jasmine recalls. “We didn’t work at the Deloitte offices. We worked at our client’s facility.
“For someone born and raised in Las Vegas, I had led a very sheltered life. My parents were Christians and Partners with Kenneth Copeland Ministries, and were attending the conventions before I was born. When I was about 5 years old, my father became addicted to cocaine. My mother got him into a Christian rehab program and he got clean. Then, he slid back into using drugs. This became a way of life for him. It was heartbreaking to watch my parents’ marriage dissolve, but eventually my dad was gone from our lives.
“My mother ran to God to be healed and to gain the strength and wisdom to raise me alone. My goal in life was to live for the Lord and not cause my mother any problems. I never smoked, drank or acted out and although we lived in Las Vegas, my mom didn’t allow me to go into casinos, and I respected that.
