Everyone can see what’s happening and the “experts” of the world are trying their best to counteract it. They’re putting up windmills and printing more money as fast as they can. But I’ll tell you right now, those things won’t fix the situation. Man-made schemes aren’t what this planet is crying out for. It’s crying out for THE BLESSING of God, and born-again believers are the avenue through which that BLESSING flows. That’s why Romans 8 says that all of creation is waiting and travailing for “the manifestation of the sons of God” (verse 19). We’re the ones with the answer to the curse that’s plaguing this place. When we rise up and walk fully in THE BLESSING that’s on us as joint heirs with Jesus, “creation itself also will be delivered from the bondage of corruption into the glorious liberty of the children of God” (verse 21, "New King James Version"). “But Brother Copeland, I keep hearing that what’s causing all the trouble is actually global warming. Are you saying you don’t believe in that?” Oh, I believe in global warming, all right. But I believe in the real kind; the kind that will come when God is finished with this earth and He’s ready to make a new one. In that day, 2 Peter 3:10 says this planet will melt like a snowball in August. All the windmills in the world won’t be able to stop it, either, because it will be the work of God and not humanity. Human beings don’t have the capacity to destroy this planet. Even if we did, there’s no way we’re going to get the opportunity. God created this earth and He’s the only One who can put an end to it. In the meantime, you and I have a job to do here. As representatives of The LORD Jesus Christ, we have a covenant of BLESSING to walk in. We’re responsible before God to be BLESSED and a BLESSING in the midst of a world that desperately needs it. Read Genesis 26 sometime and you’ll see what I mean. It tells about a time when a famine hit the region where Isaac lived and God told him to stay right in the middle of it and be a BLESSING. It would have made more sense in the natural for Isaac to escape the famine by moving his family to Egypt. But God specifically instructed him to do otherwise. “Go not down into Egypt,” He said. “Sojourn in this land, and I will be with thee, and will bless thee…and I will perform the oath which I sware unto Abraham thy father…and in thy seed shall all the nations of the earth be blessed” (verses 2-4). Dig Another Well Isaac believed God and did what he was told. He put THE BLESSING to work, sowed seed in the land, and reaped a hundredfold return in one year. Right in the midst of the famine, he “began to prosper, and continued prospering until he became very prosperous” (verse 13, "NKJV"). One way he prospered was by reopening his father’s water wells which, in years past, had been filled up with dirt by the Philistines. (That shows just how stupid sin-darkened minds can be. The Philistines lived in a hot, dry desert. They needed all the water they could get. Yet they had stopped up perfectly good wells just because they were jealous of Abraham.) The wells rightfully belonged to Isaac, both by inheritance and because he dug them out and got them flowing again. But each time he reopened one, the Philistines took it away from him by force and claimed it for themselves. Rather than fight with them, Isaac would just let them have the well and go dig out another one. ***** article continues on next page ***** Points to Get You There Don’t ever think that believing God for prosperity is selfish. This world needs you to be BLESSED! Here are some points to get you there: 1) This earth and everything in it is crying out for THE BLESSING of God to flow through you. Romans 8:19 2) In the midst of a famine, Isaac brought prosperity to an entire region by walking in THE BLESSING of God. Genesis 26:3-4 3) The same BLESSING that was on Isaac is now on you through your relationship with Jesus. Galatians 3:13-14 4) Poverty isn’t a money problem, it’s a spiritual problem, and Jesus overcame it on the cross. 2 Corinthians 8:9 5) As Jesus’ joint heir, you’ve inherited richly all things to enjoy AND everything you need to be a BLESSING wherever you go. 2 Corinthians 9:8 BVOV : 7
