We g e t s o h a p p y w e
practica lly bring the roof
down with shouts of "Praise
the Lord," and "Amen!"
Over the years, however,
I've noticed we don't always
have the same reaction to
messages about hol iness.
W h e n s o m e o n e s t a r t s
preaching about that, quoting
verses like Hebrews 12:1,
which tells us to "lay aside
ever y weight, and the sin
which doth so easily beset us,"
we can sometimes get a little
quiet. Our shouts and amens
can tend to taper off.
But that's not the way it
should be.
Hol i ne s s shou ld ma k e
us holler, "Hallelujah!" We
should be excited when God
starts talking to us about it,
because it means He wants
to manifest more of His
power through us. It means
He wants us to get ready to
work more signs, wonders and
miracles. He wants us to rise
up and be the kind of Church
described in Ephesians 5:27:
"A glor iou s c hu rc h , not
having spot, or wrinkle, or
any such thing; but…holy and
without blemish."
Holiness and the outpouring
of God's glory are connected!
e Bible reveals it time and
again. When God 's people
are walking uprightly before
Him, He can manifest His
glory through them in ever-
i nc re a si ng me a su re. But
when t hey 're wa l k ing in
disobedience and have sin in
their lives, He has to keep
t he power t u r ned dow n.
Other wise, it can have an
adverse effect, like it did
in Acts 5 on Ananias and
Sapphira.
T h is is why t he Ne w
Testament says: "Let every
one that nameth the name of
Christ depart from iniquity.
In a great house there are not
only vessels of gold and of
silver, but also of wood and
of earth; and some to honour,
and some to dishonour. If a
man therefore purge himself
from these, he shall be a vessel
unto honour, sanctified, and
meet for the master's use, and
prepared unto ever y good
work" (2 Timothy 2:19-21).

Ephesians 5:27
As a part of that
Church, you're
called to depart
from sin and
prepare yourself to
do the marvelous
works of God.
2 Timothy 2:21
Holiness doesn't
mean you never
make a mistake,
just that when you
miss it you're quick
to repent.
1 John 1:9
You have the power
to walk in holiness
because you have
the Holy Spirit
living in you.
Romans 8:11
In a world that's
going with the devil
and the flesh, it can
be hard sometimes
to obey God, but
the struggle is
worth it.
