“It took four years,” Maureen remembers, “but on July 16, 2013, I paid off the last credit card. I was free at last, no longer enslaved by debt. While I was getting out of debt, I’d also learned how to pray. By now I knew that praying in the spirit was right, but I still had worldly thinking so I didn’t do it. I wondered if it would change me. “After months of resisting it, on Aug. 15, 2013, I finally began to pray in the spirit. Then, almost two years later, Gloria and Billye Brim were on when Billye challenged viewers to pray in the spirit half an hour every day. I did, and it changed my life! These days I don’t let anything or anyone interfere with my prayer time. When I have company, I explain that I won’t speak to anyone in the morning until after I’ve had my time with the Lord.” That same year, Maureen decided to make a vision board. In the past, she’d made vision boards of what she hoped to achieve in her career. This vision board was different. It was what she hoped to achieve by faith. At the end of the year, she went through her stack of BVOV magazines and cut out pictures, phrases, words and quotes; putting them together like a puzzle on her board. It was a visual manifestation of her own journey of faith. Each year she makes a new one. Maureen first attended the Washington, D.C. Victory Campaign in 2013 and hasn’t missed one since. “Partnership with KCM means that I’m part of the family of faith,” Maureen says. “The days of me being a closet Christian are over. I speak a different language. I’m anointed and appointed to speak the Word of God. “I’ve always dreamed of singing the theme to one of the James Bond movies. But I was listening to Brother Copeland at Woodbridge, Va., last year and realized that I didn’t want to lend my God-given talent to James Bond if it cost me my anointing. I will pray about the open doors in my life because I won’t take any role that might cost me the anointing. I recently called the KCM prayer line because of severe pain on the side of my stomach. I had it for several days. The pain was healed while praying. The anointing coming through the phone call was amazing. Praise be to God! We had people tap us on the shoulder and give us prophetic words, we were each given bags of books and CDs, from someone who wanted to bless us...the blessings never stopped. We have registered for July 2016…we are flying in again for this exciting adventure...expecting so much! I also pray for total healing in my body...that I will be debt free, with more to give to the kingdom of God and to be a blessing to others.
