Over the years I’ve discovered that, spiritually much the same thing is true about “the good fight of faith” (1 Timothy 6:12). For us, as believers, to come out as winners, we have to be quick on the draw with the weapons God has given us. We have to keep our faith loaded with the ammunition of His WORD, and be as bold as John Wayne when it comes to pulling the trigger.
If we do that, we’ll see miracles happen in our lives.
The New Testament confirms it. Again and again, it tells about people in impossible situations who received what they needed from God not just because they believed Him, but because at a crucial moment, they acted on their faith.
That’s what the blind man did in Mark 10. You remember the story. It happened one day when Jesus was traveling with His disciples: “And they came to Jericho: and as he went out of Jericho…blind Bartimaeus, the son of Timaeus, sat by the highway side begging. And when he heard that it was Jesus of Nazareth, he began to cry out, and say, Jesus, thou son of David, have mercy on me. And many charged him that he should hold his peace: but he cried the more a great deal, Thou son of David, have mercy on me” (verses 46-48).
