The Glorious Family of God
by Gloria Copeland
When I first saw God’s great plan for the Church in the Bible, I could hardly believe I’d never heard about it before. It was so wonderful, so marvelous, it looked to me like the best kept secret in all of Christendom.
I couldn’t help but wonder: Why aren’t believers everywhere talking about this?
Over the years, I’ve come to understand the reason. Many believers don’t even know about it. All they’ve ever heard about God’s plan of salvation is that it gets them into heaven and keeps them out of hell. In fact, some Christians—bless their hearts—have heard so many sermons about sin and eternal punishment they’re under the impression that the primary purpose of the gospel is literally (if you’ll pardon the expression) “to scare the hell out of people.”
