“Did the healing manifest instantly, Brother Copeland?”
No. When I boarded the airplane to fly home, the pain was worse than ever. To make matters worse, during the entire flight the devil was talking to me about the fact that when we arrived at the terminal in Fort Worth, I’d have to walk a mile to get to the car. “You’re a fool if you try to walk that far,” he said. “I’ll kill you.”
“No, you won’t, devil,” I said. “You’re a liar.”
By the time we landed that night, my leg had swollen so much it felt like it weighed as much as I did. It was a throbbing mass of pain. Waddling off the plane, I was met by a man with a wheelchair. We hadn’t called for him. Yet there he was.
“I have your chair ready for you,” he said.
I listened in my spirit for a word from The LORD. 'Healed people don’t ride in wheelchairs,' He told me.
That’s all I needed to hear. Turning to the man who’d offered me the chair, I said, “No, thank you. I’m healed. I don’t need it.”
“You sure?” he asked.
I pulled the trigger on my faith. “Yes,” I said…and I started walking. Although my leg screamed about it the whole way, I knew I had to obey The LORD and walk that mile—and the grace of God within me gave me the power to do it.
My parents had come to pick us up at the airport and they took us to their house where I went to sleep by faith. About 2 a.m., I suddenly came wide awake and sat straight up. At the exact same time, my mother, who was sitting beside me, praying, said, “Glory to God! That’s it!”
She was right. I knew it and she knew it: I’d received my healing.
That kind of thing has happened to me countless times over the years as I’ve fought the good fight of faith, and it will happen for you, too. If you’ll keep your faith loaded up with The WORD of God and be ready to act on it when the time comes, you can win every shootout with the devil. You can pull the faith trigger with such unflinching boldness he’ll regret the day he ever squared off against you, because when the battle is over, and the dust settles, you’ll be the one left standing, and he’ll be under your feet. Sometimes manifestations don’t come instantly. So hold steady. Don’t fall into the trap of wondering about it.
When you’re facing a challenge in some area of life, find out what God’s WORD says about it. Romans 10:17
Keep that WORD before your eyes, don’t just rely on your memory of what it says.

When faith arises in your heart, be ready to act on your faith.
