For us, as believers, this is vital information! It reminds us how important it is, not only for us to have faith, but to pull the trigger on it when it’s ready to be released. “But what if I pull the trigger and nothing seems to happen?” you might ask. “What if it doesn’t look like anything is changing?” That’s OK. Sometimes manifestations don’t come instantly. So hold steady. Don’t fall into the trap of wondering about it. Don’t start saying, “I wonder why this isn’t working.” Just stay in faith. If, after a while, you still sense there’s a problem, talk to God about the situation. But approach Him on the level of faith, not on the level of wondering. There’s a huge difference between those two. When you approach God on the faith level, you don’t say anything to Him about His WORD not working. You don’t ask Him why He hasn’t done what He said He’d do. No. You base your conversation with Him on the fact that He’s always faithful. That He loves you beyond anything you can conceive and He always keeps His WORD. Personally, I made up my mind about this a long time ago: I will never allow the devil to pressure me into thinking my failure to receive is God’s fault. It’s never His fault. If anyone’s got things goofed up, it’s me. Because I’ve settled this, when I fail to get results from my prayers, I say, “LORD, I know by Your WORD it’s Your perfect will for me to receive what I’ve asked of You; and I thank You for it, Sir. I’m BLESSED to know You’ve provided it for me and I’m inquiring of You about the delay. I know You can’t miss it, so if I’ve missed the mark here somewhere, I’m asking You to correct me.” Walking the Miracle Mile I’ll never forget one of the first times I made such an inquiry of The LORD. It was in Shreveport, La., early in my ministry. I was preaching some meetings there when I found myself dealing with a serious situation in my body. The problem began during the worship portion of one of the services. As I was standing up praising God, I felt a strange sensation in my left leg. It suddenly seemed tight, like something was there that didn’t belong. Right away, I turned to Gloria and said, “I need you to agree with me about this.” We prayed, I went ahead and preached, and I didn’t think any more about it for the rest of the evening. The next morning, however, when I got up, it really hurt. I didn’t even want to walk on it. But I was scheduled to minister two services a day for the rest of the week, so I kept going by faith. The LORD helped me, and every time I’d step up on the platform to minister, the pain would instantly go away. Then the minute I finished and stepped off the platform—boom!—there it was again. This kept happening until, by the end of the week when I finished the meetings, I was in agony. The sore spot on my thigh that had started out fairly small, had grown larger and my entire leg had begun to swell. I could only take about three steps before the pain hit me with such vengeance that I’d cry out before I could stop myself. Realizing my healing wasn’t manifesting the way it should, I went before The LORD and asked Him where I’d missed it. He showed me that instead of going to The WORD and actually reading the healing scriptures, because I knew them, I just quoted them. 'That’s not enough,' He said. 'You need to open your Bible and look at them. You need to literally put your eyes on My WORD and read it out loud so you can hear it.' Then He reminded me of Proverbs 4:20-22: “My son, attend to my words; incline thine ear unto my sayings. Let them not depart from thine eyes; keep them in the midst of thine heart. For they are life unto those that find them, and health to all their flesh.” 'Kenneth,' He said, 'Your eyes are a gateway through which The WORD enters your spirit. But you haven’t been using them. You’ve been relying on your memory; and the memory of The WORD won’t nourish your spirit any more than the memory of food will nourish your body.' I made the correction instantly. I immediately turned to the healing scriptures and started feeding my faith. *****ADVERTISEMENT***** Give Your Faith a Rock-Solid Foundation When you’re building your faith, you need a blueprint—an image of God’s Word in your heart.
