Make a Quality Decision Any believer who intends to operate by faith must make a quality decision where The WORD of God is concerned. Deuteronomy 30:19 is a scripture I quote often because it shows the vital necessity of making a choice. God said, “I call heaven and earth to record this day against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing: therefore choose life, that both thou and thy seed may live….” God has placed the choice before us. We can either choose life and blessing or we can choose death and cursing. To choose God is to choose The WORD; to choose Jesus is to choose The WORD. I cannot stress enough the importance of our decision in spiritual things. We will be constantly climbing uphill until that quality decision is made, until we make our choice to stand steadfastly on The WORD of God and make it the final authority in our lives. The Bible is a God-breathed, God-inspired and God-indwelt book. It is God speaking to you! It is a living thing. Hebrews 4:12 says, “For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.” God’s WORD is real and powerful. It has an integrity that is beyond reproach. In God there is no variableness; God does not change. He is the same yesterday, today and forever (Hebrews 13:8). His nature does not change. His Name does not change. Consequently, His WORD does not change. God’s WORD is His bond. The nature of God’s WORD is miraculous. Throughout Genesis 1, we find the words, “And God said….” The Bible is filled with the phrase, “Thus saith the Lord….” When God speaks, things happen! He created the worlds with words. “Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear” (Hebrews 11:3). The parent force of the physical world was the faith released in God’s WORD. “For he spake, and it was done; he commanded, and it stood fast” (Psalm 33:9). Realize the power inherent in The WORD of God! He spoke and the whole universe was brought into existence. Psalm 119:89 says that God’s WORD is forever settled in heaven. Jesus said in Matthew 24:35, “Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away.” Why? Because heaven and earth are the children; God’s WORD is the parent. There is nothing in the earth more sovereign than God’s WORD. God has placed His own faith in His WORD. He will back His WORD with His power. Once He has given His WORD, He will not relent. It will come to pass! When a man gives his word, he enters into a binding contract that will be just as good a year later as it was the day it was made. God’s WORD works the same way. The Abrahamic Covenant In Genesis 17:4-7, God approached Abram and made a covenant with him. He said, “As for me, behold, my covenant is with thee, and thou shalt be a father of many nations. Neither shall thy name any more be called Abram, but thy name shall be Abraham; for a father of many nations have I made thee…And I will establish my covenant between me and thee and thy seed after thee….” In Romans 4, we can see that Abraham was a man fully persuaded and convinced that what God had promised him in the covenant, He was willing and able to perform. Abraham stood in faith against adverse circumstances and The WORD of God prevailed. “And being not weak in faith, he considered not his own body now dead, when he was about an hundred years old, neither yet the deadness of Sarah’s womb: He staggered not at the promise of God through unbelief; but was strong in faith, giving glory to God; And being fully persuaded that, what he had promised, he was able also to perform” (verses 19-21). Abraham received The WORD of God and he considered The WORD rather than the circumstances around him. “And being not weak in faith, he considered not his own body…neither yet the deadness of Sarah’s womb.” He made that quality decision to believe God’s WORD. He chose life and life was the result. Praise God! Moses led the Israelites out of Egypt on the strength of the Abrahamic Covenant. Exodus 2:23-24 says, “The children of Israel…cried, and their cry came up unto God by reason of the bondage. And God heard their groaning, and God remembered his covenant with Abraham, with Isaac, and with Jacob.” Just think of the power that covenant contained! God had given His WORD, and like any honest man, He was bound by His WORD. Moses’ entire ministry was in behalf of God’s WORD to Abraham. Release Your Faith With Words You have the ability to stand on The WORD of God against all the works of Satan. That WORD living within you will rise up strong and the power of God will move in your behalf. It will cause that which you are believing for to come to pass. 20 : BVOV
