The Prosperous Life
by Gloria Copeland
I’m no expert on the world’s economy, but judging by the reports I hear on the news it has a lot of problems. It’s always being plagued with some kind of downturn. It’s perpetually in danger of recession or depression.
I’m glad you and I are dependent on heaven’s economy. I’m a citizen of heaven—and heaven’s economy is doing just fine!
It doesn’t go up and down with the stock market. It isn’t dependent on the consumer price index or the gross domestic product. It’s dependent on God, and He’s the same yesterday, today and forever. His resources never run out and He never tires of pouring them out on His people.
God always has been, and always will be, the God of abundance. He’s never skimped on anything. Ever since the Garden of Eden, He’s shown Himself to be a generous Father. When He created Adam and Eve, He didn’t just give them barely enough to get by; He gave them plenty of everything good. Then He BLESSED them and told them to multiply and increase even more!
