I fi rst made Jesus the Lord of my life
back in 1971. I had come out of that long
hair, stoner, druggie era. When it came to
spiritual things I didn't know much, but I
knew Jesus was the real deal. The Word
began to come alive in a dramatic way. I saw
that Jesus was not only real, but He was
also meaningful. What He said changed
my life.
None of us really knows how to think
until we meet Jesus. That's when we
realize just how squirrelly our pre-Jesus
thinking was. For me, Jesus took me on
a path and did something I'm so thankful
for: He introduced me to the Holy Spirit,
the One who would dwell in me, rest upon
me and o‰ er me real help; the kind that
only the Lord provides, the kind each of us
needs.
This subject of the Holy Spirit is personal.
For years, even after I was saved, I carried
around a failure mindset because of trauma
in my childhood. I didn't realize the e‰ ect
