fi rst the blade, then the ear, after that the full corn in the ear (verses 26-28). Notice, Jesus didn't say the man got up in the middle of the night and dug up his seed to check on it because he couldn't feel it growing. No, the man knew his feelings didn't have anything to do with it. He understood that once in the ground, the seed would do what it was designed to do. Down in the soil, where he couldn't see or feel it happening, the growth process would take place, and he'd eventually get a crop. That's how it is with faith in God's WORD. It works unseen and unfelt in the human heart just as that man's seed did in the soil. The same is true of fear. Because it's a spiritual force it, too, can be working in us without our being able to feel it. Just as faith can be working unseen and unfelt in a believer to produce healing, fear can be working in someone without them feeling it, to make them sick. Even medical science confi rms that fear can and does produce diseases such as arthritis, heart disease, digestive problems, immune disorders and a host of other maladies. Fear can cripple the human mind, change the color of a person's hair, and even blind their eyes. I've talked to doctors who told me that 80 percent or more of the patients in hospitals are there because of fear, anxiety and worry. Worry is so common that many people don't even think of it as fear, but it is. It's meditating on a lie of the devil until it scares you. Worry will cause you to call negative things that don't yet exist into existence. It will cause you to bathe yourself in fear until you speak of what you're worried about as if it had already happened and, as a result, it sometimes will. Even if it doesn't happen, the worry itself will damage your body. That's why it's not unusual to hear people say things like, "I just worried myself sick." That's literally what they did. Di erent Laws, Di erent Results Why are worry and fear so consistently destructive? Because they activate the operation of the spiritual law of sin and death. That law is the most hellish spiritual law ever set in motion on this earth. It's the satanic reciprocal of the spiritual master law originally established by God, the law of life. If you're not familiar with the concept of spiritual laws, they govern the operations of the spirit realm much like the laws of physics govern the natural world. So, where God's law of life produced nothing but BLESSING and good on the earth, when the law of sin and death went into operation, it began producing the opposite. It perverted the law of life and brought forth all the deadly manifestations of the curse. It became the evil master law of the spirit realm and began its cruel reign over mankind. The law of sin and death is still in operation today. It is still as deadly as ever, but—thanks be to God—you don't have to let it reign over you. You can reign over it instead, because through the plan of Redemption God has established another spiritual master law. One that is not only greater than the law of sin and death, but is higher and even more powerful than the original law of the spirit of life. What is this higher law? The law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus! The law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus is the law that went into operation in your life when you were born again. It's the law that enabled you to be delivered out of the kingdom of darkness and into the kingdom of God's dear Son.
