truth, kindness and courage. He never backs down from exposing evil, but He always offers hope and healing in the light. Evidence: When you shine, you don't join in with darkness. You carry something better! Your light can show people who are hurting that there's another way—a way full of Jesus' love and truth. Christ In You: You don't have to be afraid of the dark. Jesus lives in you. When you stay close to Him—through prayer, worship and His Word—His light lls your heart and your world. You become a light- bringer, a truth-revealer and a hope-carrier, just like Him. Now, you're ready for verse 14! "This is why the Scripture says, 'Arise, you sleeper! Rise up from your cof n and the Anointed One will shine his light into you!'" So even if we feel like we're stuck in darkness, Jesus is always shining His light. He's not mad. He's not disappointed. He just says,"Wake up! Come shine with Me!" Your Turn, Superkid! Ask Jesus today to help you walk in His light. Not by trying harder or acting "perfect"—but by beholding Him, yielding to His voice, and living in close relationship with the One who lights the world. So… Shine Bright, Superkid! Commander Kellie truth, kindness and courage. He never backs down from exposing evil, but He always offers hope Commander Kellie's Corner Kellie Copeland is responsible for Covenant Partner Relations at Kenneth Copeland Ministries and is the developer of the Superkid Academy curriculum. Through her ministry and as "Commander Kellie," she ful lls the mission of drawing people of all ages into a personal, growing and powerful relationship with Jesus Christ. Hey, Superkid! I'm excited to dive back into our study of Ephesians. Last time, we talked about what it means toLove Out Loud—letting Jesus' love ow from the inside out. That means we're done trying to be good enough. Instead, we're letting Jesus be the goodness that shines through us. His loveisin you! And when you let itshine, you start looking more and more likeHim. Did you see the clue I dropped there? That's right! Ephesians 5:6-7, The Passion Translation, talks about theLIGHTthat shines. It says, "Don't be fooled by those who speak their empty words and deceptive teachings telling you otherwise. This is what brings God's anger upon the rebellious! Don't listen to them or live like them at all." To understand what Paul means by "don't be fooled," we have to remember what he said in verses 1–5. He had been talking about how we live as God's holy children, imitating Him by walking in love— not chasing after things like greed, impurity or sel shness. So, when Paul says, "don't be fooled by people who say otherwise," he's warning you to not listen to people who say that you can live however you want, or by your own power, and still shine. That's not who we are anymore! We now have the very light of Jesus. Look at what verses 8–9 say: "Once your life was full of sin's darkness, but now you have the very light of our Lord shining through you because of your union with him. Your mission is to live as children ooded with his revelation-light! And the supernatural fruits of his light will be seen in you—goodness, righteousness, and truth." You used to be in darkness, but now Jesus has lled you with His own light. And not just lled, but fl ooded! That's not just a little ashlight glow—it's a blazing, beautiful, unstoppable light that comes from being one with Him. truth, kindness and courage. He never backs down from exposing evil, but He always offers hope and healing in the light. you don't join in with darkness. You carry something better! Your light can show people who are hurting that there's another way—a way full of ® Remember, Superkid, that light comes with the same purpose that Jesus has—to shine into the world! His light isyour light, and His mission isyourmission! These breakdowns are great to talk about as a family, or you can spend time thinking and praying about how this affectsyou. Christlike Character: Jesus is the light of the world (John 8:12). He brings truth, reveals the Father, and lights up every heart so they can see. He doesn't just shineonus—He shinesthroughus. Evidence: As you walk with Him, the "fruits of light" begin to grow in your life— goodness, righteousness and truth. People can see that Jesus is living big inside of you when that fruit shows up! Christ In You: You're not trying to be a bright light by yourself. The light Himself lives in you! As you behold Jesus—seeing how good, kind and powerful He is—you start shining just like Him. That's what happens when you live in close friendship with Jesus and let Him lead the way. Let's keep going with verses 10–13: Then you will learn to choose what is beautiful to our Lord. And don't even associate with the servants of darkness because they have no fruit in them; instead, reveal truth to them. The very things they do in secret are too vile and lthy to even mention. Whatever the revelation-light exposes, it will also correct, and everything that reveals truth is light to the soul. Whoa. This kind of light doesn't just shine—it changes things. When the light of Jesus shines in your life, it helps you see what's good and what's not. It's like ipping on a light in a dark room— suddenly you can see what needs to go and what needs to grow. And this isHUGE: As Jesus shines through you, others can see it too. You don't have to preach a sermon. You, full of His light, are the message they need to see Jesus! Christlike Character: Jesus doesn't ignore darkness—He shines into it with 'Shine Bright!' Activity Sheets Are Here! Scan to get this month's activities.
