Obeying that word, Lesley resigned from her job to seek the Lord. While watching God TV one day, a man appeared on the screen whom she didn't recognize. She'd never seen him before. Then she heard that voice again: You need to partner with that ministry. There was a phone number on the screen. Lesley called the number, and discovered it was Kenneth Copeland Ministries. "That's how I became a Partner with KCM," she says. "I started growing spiritually from the time I read my first Partner Letter," Lesley remembers. "Then I started watching the broadcast and reading the magazine. It changed everything. I loved the way they taught the Word of God, and I began understanding the Bible more. Seeking God "I spent that year not just seeking God, but immersing myself in learning. I started learning how to use my faith and how to receive answered prayer. "Kenneth Copeland taught me who I am in Christ! What a revelation! He showed me in Scripture that I needed to be in a church, so I joined a church immediately. Little by little, he brought me into spiritual alignment." After spending all of 2003 seeking God, in 2004 Lesley returned to work in retail. Only now, her life had changed drastically. "I was listening to the broadcast and learning. I was studying God's Word," she says. "For years, I had thought I got born again when my mother explained to us how to ask Jesus into our hearts. But as I got to know His Word and His voice, I realized I had committed to Him when I was about to turn 15—when He asked me if I would follow Him all my life." Still working in retail, Lesley found 2005 to be a turbulent year. During that time, she had been listening to Gloria Copeland teach on Psalm 91, she recalls. She also remembers listening to Gloria's teachings on Noah and how he had built an ark that protected those who survived the flood. "She taught that, as believers, we could use God's Word to build an ark of safety." The Lord directed Lesley to get Psalm 91 in her heart and in her mouth. She memorized it and began confessing it daily. She'd been confessing it when terrorists bombed the London transport system. She'd been confessing it when terrorists bombed the resort where she was staying in Egypt. God had warned her to go to the hotel. If she had waited until she finished her shopping, she'd have been caught in the explosion. "Following the bombing in Egypt, I went back to work with a whole new revelation of the goodness, kindness and love of God," Lesley explains. "I'd learned even more about the power of His Word when it is alive in our hearts and our mouths. Another Piece of the Puzzle "I continued working in retail and learning how to operate in faith. In 2008, I felt led to earn another degree, this time in human resources. I told my company that I'd work Saturdays if they would allow me to have Tuesdays off. They agreed, and every Tuesday I took classes in the afternoon and evening." "During my second year, we were told we needed to get a job in human resources while we completed our coursework. I wasn't sure where that would be. However, right after that, I opened a Partner Letter from Brother Copeland. In it, he mentioned that they had an opening in Human Resources Management in their European office." In November 2009, Lesley interviewed for the position—and was hired. In January 2010, she started and would report to the office director. She lived 50 miles from the workplace, which was a three-hour round trip each day. Since she'd learned to seek God's kingdom first, she spent that travel time listening to teachings from KCM's meetings. She learned to love the drive. For the next two years, Lesley continued to take Tuesdays off for classes. She earned a postgraduate degree in Human Resources Management, all while attending church and serving in various ways. 1 6 : B V O V
