B V O V : 5 up the Body of Christ; and if one member of the Body su ers, we all su er. For me to dishonor you a ects not only you, but me as well. It a ects the whole Body of Christ. If one of us is honored, we all share in that honor. Likewise, if one of us dishonors himself, there are negative consequences for all of us. God has the power to turn over all the world's fi nances to us. But most of us have not been ready for that kind of trust. Most of us would have used that wealth on ourselves or squandered it and used it foolishly, until the devil got hold of it all again. Think about it. If all the wealth in the world were divided evenly, every man, woman and child on the face of the earth would receive several million dollars. The fi gure goes up every day as more assets are discovered. But if those assets were evenly distributed today, in a year's time or so the ones who control it now would have it all back, even the assets received by the Body of Christ, because either we have not been taught, or we have been taught wrongly that, as believers, we are not supposed to have much on this earth. "Well, you know, Jesus was poor," someone might say. Poor people don't need a treasurer. And the Scripture said Judas, His treasurer, carried the bag. And the night when Jesus was betrayed, He told Judas, "What you do, do quickly" (John 13:27, New King James Version), and Judas left the room. It was the middle of the night, and some of Jesus' disciples thought He was telling Judas to go get some more food for the meal or to give something to the poor (verse 29). You would have to have a reputation of giving to the poor—especially at that hour and in that important situation. So don't tell me He was a poor man. These men were used to having a large income, too. They were very successful people. Peter and some of the others were in the fi shing business, and Matthew was a publican and a tax collector. He got his money through some questionable means, but he was a wealthy man. There were no poor men there that night. And we shouldn't be poor either. Prosperity is part of our Covenant. We are one Body in Christ and each JULY READ THROUGH THE BIBLE Old Testament NEW Testament Tue 1 2 Kgs. 10:1-12:8 Rom. 13 Wed 2 2 Kgs. 12:9-14:22 Rom. 14 Thu 3 2 Kgs. 14:23-16:20 Rom. 15 Fri 4 2 Kgs. 17:1-18:16 Rom. 16 Sat 5 2 Kgs. 18:17-20:11 Sun 6 Ps. 79-81; Prov. 17:1-18 Mon 7 2 Kgs. 20:12-22:20 1 Cor. 1 Tue 8 2 Kgs. 23-24 1 Cor. 2 Wed 9 2 Kgs. 25- 1 Cor. 3 1 Chr. 1:33 Thu 10 1 Chr. 1:34-2:41 1 Cor. 4 Fri 11 1 Chr. 2:42-4:23 1 Cor. 5 Sat 12 1 Chr. 4:24-6:30 Sun 13 Ps. 82-85; Prov. 17:19-18:9 Mon 14 1 Chr. 6:31-7:12 1 Cor. 6 Tue 15 1 Chr. 7:13-8:40 1 Cor. 7 Wed 16 1 Chr. 9:1-11:3 1 Cor. 8 Thu 17 1 Chr. 11:4-12:22 1 Cor. 9 Fri 18 1 Chr. 12:23-15:15 1 Cor. 10 Sat 19 1 Chr. 15:16-16:43 Sun 20 Ps. 86-88; Prov. 18:10-24 Mon 21 1 Chr. 17-19 1 Cor. 11 Tue 22 1 Chr. 20-22 1 Cor. 12 Wed 23 1 Chr. 23-24 1 Cor. 13 Thu 24 1 Chr. 25-26 1 Cor. 14 Fri 25 1 Chr. 27:1-29:9 1 Cor. 15 Sat 26 1 Chr. 29:10- 2 Chr. 2:18 Sun 27 Ps. 89; Prov. 19:1-17 Mon 28 2 Chr. 3:1-6:11 1 Cor. 16 Tue 29 2 Chr. 6:12-8:10 2 Cor. 1 Wed 30 2 Chr. 8:11-11:4 2 Cor. 2 Thu 31 2 Chr. 11:5-14:8 2 Cor. 3
