4 : B V O V
Simon Peter, a servant and an apostle of
Jesus Christ, to them that have obtained
like precious faith with us through the
righteousness of God and our Saviour Jesus
Christ: Grace and peace be multiplied unto
you through the knowledge of God, and of
Jesus our Lord, according as his divine power
hath given unto us all things that pertain unto
life and godliness, through the knowledge of
him that hath called us to glory and virtue:
whereby are given unto us exceeding great and
precious promises: that by these ye might be
partakers of the divine nature, having escaped
the corruption that is in the world through lust
(2 Peter 1:1-4).

Honor: Walking in
Honesty, Truth
& Integrity.
Though the actual word isn't always
used, honor is taught throughout the Old
and New Covenants. These verses from
2 Peter speak of God's divine nature and
His promises, which are fi lled with His
honor and character. Jesus said, "I and
my Father are one" (John 10:30; 1 John
5:7). He is The WORD made fl esh so, as
we saw, God and His WORD are One (John
1:1-2, 14).
In Psalm 26:8, the psalmist David said, "LORD,
I have loved the habitation of thy house, and the
place where thine honour dwelleth." God doesn't
just have honor and integrity, He is honor and
integrity. It's His nature. First John 1:5 says,
"…God is light, and in him is no darkness at all."
Walking in honor, then, means walking like God—
walking in the light, as He is in the light (1 John
1:7). Honor, Light and Love are His character.
Dishonesty, lying and fear are of darkness.
They are the nature and character of God's enemy,
