to accomplish? What is YOUR will concerning
this project? What is YOUR vision?"
Kenneth and Gloria have always wanted God's
plan for their ministry.
STEP No. 2—Write the vision.
Make it clear and specifi c. It helps our
faith to write the vision so that we can run
with it. When we do that, the vision won't be
ambiguous. How can we successfully hit the
bull's-eye if we don't know what the target is?
If we don't know what our destination is, how
will we know when we have arrived?
A lack of clarity makes our purpose elusive
and unattainable. Writing a God-given vision
makes it clear and measurable. It focuses
time, energy and e„ort toward the priorities
rather than the problems. It provides a way
to measure progress and makes decision-
making easy.
One university study revealed that only 3%
of the graduates followed written goals with
an accompanying plan of action. The 3% who
followed their written plan earned more than
the combined earnings of all the other 97%!
We are still operating from the vision The
LORD gave Brother Copeland in 1976: Preach
this uncompromising Word of Faith on every
available voice!
Recently, I heard Brother Copeland say
something I had never heard before, as He
was sharing about the importance of writing
down what The LORD gives us. He said: "I
heard The LORD say, I will honor your written
word the way you honor My written WORD, if
you get your written word out of My WORD.
He doesn't have anything to honor if you don't
write it down. Put it on paper in your own
handwriting."
That is powerful!
STEP No. 3—Locate your scriptures.
Kenneth and Gloria have always
emphasized the vital importance of locating
scriptures that support their God-given
vision. God's WORD and prayer are the
foundations to all that KCM accomplishes.
Whenever a vision has been presented and
the scriptures have been given, we have stood
on those scriptures and declared them out
loud.
Many years ago, we were building the
Student Life Center. One of our scriptures
was Hebrews 3:4 (AMPC): "For [of course]
every house is built and furnished by
someone, but the Builder of all things and
the Furnisher [of the entire equipment of all
things] is God." We stood on that scripture,
as well as others. We declared it all the time.
Today, the Student Life Center houses both
KCBC and our children's ministry.
You could say that the Student Life Center
was built by one confession of faith at a time.
