My wife filed for divorce the first week in September. The guest speaker gave this word before either of those things happened. Looking back, it's clear what it meant. But at the time, I had no idea. "I'd been told that the church was going to put me on furlough until my wife came back. I knew she wasn't coming back. I told them they might as well cut me loose. In the interim, I worked at a mortgage company. JoJo called when she needed to refinance her house. "After Jim's death, all of JoJo's kids moved back home except the one who was married. In February of 2003, they invited my daughter and me to hang out with their big, boisterous family. Eventually, I asked each of JoJo's kids if I could date her. Each one gave us their blessing. You need to decide by the time we return what you're going to do. Either you stop preaching what you're preaching, or you resign." As JoJo and Chris discussed the situation, one thing became clear. Everything he'd taught had been backed up by Scripture. They were going to be subject to God or man. But it was to God that they would give an account. Chris resigned. They traveled to Florida to regroup. Chris was rafting in the Gulf of Mexico when the Lord spoke to him: I want you to start a church. Chris got off the raft and walked up the shore to his wife. "You're not going to believe what the Lord just told me. He wants us to start a church." Faith for a Church In the fall of 2008, Chris and JoJo incorporated Faith Life Fellowship in Littleton, Colo. They held their first service at the end of the year. "I came across an application on the KCM We believe our church was created for such a time as this. We won't compromise the Word of God. We won't compromise politically.
