not only won awards, but it also brought the Word of God to tens of thousands of children regularly. When its run was complete, funds for Shout! were funneled to other children's ministry projects. Superkid Academy is now a mainstay each year at the Southwest Believers' Convention, attracting hundreds of children. Another New Course, and Voice KCM launched its radio ministry in May 1975, broadcasting on 10 stations, and a short time later, the Lord told Brother Copeland to put forth the Word "on every available voice." Within a year, the broadcast was being heard on more than 500 stations in the U.S. and Canada. Television became the next "available voice" for KCM in 1971 when, on May 27, Kenneth Copeland welcomed viewers to e Word of Faith, a one-hour television program that, over time, would evolve into what is known today as the Believer's Voice of Victory television broadcast. Within weeks, however, faced with challenges that included time restraints, fi nances and a lack of equipment, the program would be placed on hold. A second opportunity at television, through a half-hour syndicated program called e Prayer Group, that began airing in 1972, would prove to be signifi cantly more successful. But once again, the strain of operating an ongoing TV ministry while maintaining a rigorous schedule traveling and speaking proved to be too much for such a young ministry. By 1974, for a second time, plans for a television ministry had to be put back on the shelf. Knowing the Lord wanted them on TV, Kenneth and Gloria Copeland never accepted those delays as defeat. Instead, they used those experiences as impetus for motivation to exercise their faith—believing that someday they would occupy a permanent place on TV. In 1978, the Lord began to talk to Kenneth and Gloria about going back on TV. One weekend while heading home to Fort Worth from a trip to Arkansas, they stopped for breakfast. They ordered their food, prayed, and then, as they ate, began to discuss going back on television. Suddenly, God's plan for the television ministr y dropped into Kenneth 's heart, and snapped into place like a piece of a jigsaw puzzle. He looked at Gloria and knew from the look on her face she had heard the same "snap." In that moment, they both knew that Jesus was saying to them, OK, let's do it! "Gloria," Kenneth said, "tomorrow is Monday. 8 : B V O V God 's Word and shaping the course of an entire generation of believers. Taking Up the Cause Over 30 years ago, a new concept in children's ministry at KCM was born with the creation of Commander Kellie and the Superkids. By 1992, the fi rst Superkid movie, e Intruder, debuted. at same year Wichita Slim, with Kenneth Copeland as the title character, rode onto the screen in e Gunslinger. "We set out to do full-length motion pictures, and in those motion pictures, train and teach the power of e WORD of God," Brother Copeland recalls. Great success resulted in three more Superkid movies: Armor of Light, e Sword and Judgment: e Trial of Commander Kellie, and two additional Wichita Slim movies, Covenant Rider and e Treasure of Eagle Mountain. en, in April 1993, the fi rst children's activity page appeared in the BVOV magazine.
