many years.
I'm not pointing to myself. I'm pointing
to God and to His WORD. He's the One who
promised us long life, and His WORD is what
empowers us to take possession of it.
God's WORD is the ultimate health and long-
life manual! That's why He says in Proverbs 3,
"My son, forget not my law or teaching, but
let your heart keep my commandments; for
length of days and years of a life [worth living]
and tranquility [inward and outward and
continuing through old age till death], these
shall they add to you" (verses 1–2, AMPC).
All God's teachings and commands are
important, but particularly those about
walking in love. Love is what keeps your faith
working (Galatians 5:6), and faith is what
enables you to lay claim to the promises
of God. When you're walking in love and
in faith, you can say with confi dence what
David did, for example, in Psalm 103:2-5:
"Bless the LORD, O my soul, and forget
not all his benefi ts: who forgiveth all thine
iniquities; who healeth all thy diseases;
who redeemeth thy life from destruction;
who crowneth thee with lovingkindness
and tender mercies; who satisfi eth thy
mouth with good things; so that thy youth is
renewed like the eagle's."
Notice in verse 5 the word things is in italics.
That means it was added by the translators.
What that verse actually says is that God
satisfi es your mouth with good. Good what?
Good words. Good faith words that come
from The WORD of God. His words release
supernatural youth-renewing power.
That's how we, as believers, are supposed
to be! God's plan isn't for us to limp into our
latter years, crumbling and falling apart.
His plan is for our youth to be continually
renewed. "Those who are planted in the house
of the LORD shall fl ourish," He said. "They
shall still bear fruit in old age; They shall be
fresh and fl ourishing, to declare that The
LORD is upright; He is my rock, and there is
no unrighteousness in Him" (Psalm 92:13–15,
NKJV).
Believe it. Declare it. Plan for it. Take
possession by faith of the long, strong life God
has promised you!
"He desires to
fellowship with
us so fully that
the results of His
presence become
clearly visible not
only to us, but to
the whole world.
That's always been
God's dream."
