Editor’s Letter The Right Season! Don’t give up! Those words have been very strong in my spirit lately, likely because of my conversations and shared disappointments over the months with people about having not completed some things we’d hoped to accomplish by now. In trying to figure why some things didn’t happen, I hear myself say, “Oh yeah, but we lost at least a year to COVID-19.” But I wonder, Did we really lose out on anything because of the pandemic? Whether or not we reached certain goals, our lives are not over. There’s still plenty of time for God to fulfill His plan and purpose in each of us. Paul reminds us of this in Philippians 1:6: “I am certain that God, who began the good work within you, will continue his work until it is finally finished on the day when Christ Jesus returns” (New Living Translation). No matter what comes or how difficult things look, rather than give up we should persevere. Ecclesiastes 3:1 says, “To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven.” Just as He created us for a purpose, God has established a timeline for things to happen in our lives. If they haven’t happened already, perhaps it’s because He’s still working that “perfect work” (James 1:4) in us to bring those things into being. We may have lost a lot during the pandemic—much of which cannot be regained—but not time. Time is in the hands of our Creator, and He’s assured us that the time He’s allotted to us cannot be taken away. It’s good to have a plan, and desire to see it come to pass. But it’s also good to know God has a better plan and that, at His appointed time, it will definitely come to pass. God has promised restoration to us. He will see to it! We hope you’re enjoying our “backstory” presentation of KCM as we continue celebrating 55 years in ministry. This month, we say happy birthday to our KCM Africa office as it turns 40. Enjoy!
