Living In Grace-Based Success by Creflo Dollar How do you define success? Is it based on the things you possess? Or do you define it in light of God’s grace and your position as one of His children? It’s time to rewrite your definition of success. Despite what you hear in this world, it is the presence of God in your life that makes you a success. Success is not based on what you have. It’s based on who you have. That’s what I call “grace-based success.” In Genesis 39:1-2, we read a clear example of grace-based success: “And Joseph was brought down to Egypt; and Potiphar, an officer of Pharaoh, captain of the guard, an Egyptian, bought him of the hands of the Ishmeelites, which had brought him down hither. And the LORD was with Joseph, and he was a prosperous man; and he was in the house of his master the Egyptian.” At the time, Joseph was a slave, being sold on an auction block. He didn’t possess any material blessings. And yet, Moses wrote that Joseph was a prosperous man. Why? Because “the LORD was with Joseph.” He was prosperous and successful because of who he knew, not because of what he had. That’s grace-based success. I’ve come to believe that every issue in a person’s life can be resolved through an intimate relationship with our heavenly Father. Second Corinthians 3:18 says, “But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord.” BVOV : 13
