Editor’s Letter Your Vote Matters! More than 200 years after our Founding Fathers established this country, many of America’s citizens still wrestle with their intent—questioning whether our nation was God-ordained. But anyone who knows God knows He established America on purpose. A covenant was made binding America and the Lord together. In the same way the nation of Israel has a covenant with God, the United States does, too. And just like He held every Jew responsible for how the nation of Israel responded to His prophets and His direction, God holds Christians responsible for America today. I borrowed those words from an article by Kenneth Copeland in this month’s issue because I wanted to stress the importance of your participation in the election process. The elections in November are being viewed by many as the most crucial ones in our nation’s history. And we, as believers, will play a major role in the outcome. The Republican Party is not responsible, and neither is the Democratic Party. That duty rests solely on the shoulders of the Church. If we will do what we are responsible to do this November (and in every election for that matter), we will see things change for the good in our nation. Over the next several months, "Believer’s Voice of Victory" will feature articles that share why your participation in the voting process is crucial. No matter how bad things may seem, you, as a believer, have the power to help make them better. How? First, by being faithful to pray for our nation and its leaders (1 Timothy 2:1-3). Second, you can help effect change by exercising your right to vote. In this month’s article, titled "The Responsibility of the American Believer," Brother Copeland writes: “As His people, we shouldn’t just leave the running of this country to the world. Instead, we must stand up for what God desires to do with it and through it.” You can read more on Page 10. I encourage you to read every article, then be led by the Holy Spirit as you prepare to go to the polls to vote. God ordained good government, and He has ordained each of us to be responsible for it. So, get involved. Get out there and VOTE! Because your vote really does matter. Ronald C.
