Some believers repeatedly pray, “Lord, what is my calling? What am I called to do?” They try time and again to get God to tell them whether they’re to be a prophet, a teacher, an evangelist, or to do some other specific work in the Body of Christ. But they aren’t positioned to hear the answer because they haven’t yet done what He’s already told them to do in His written Word. You may not know everything about your calling, but you can tell from reading the Bible some things you’re called to do. So, start with those. Don’t jump out ahead and start out trying to be a prophet. No one is ready to be a prophet until they’re obeying the call God wrote down for us in black and white—the call to holiness. I’m not saying we must be perfect for God to promote us, or that to be vessels of His glory we must get to where we never miss it. That’s not what being holy means. Holiness is simply honoring God in your heart, walking in the light you have, and continuing to seek more light. It’s being obedient to God the best you know how—in your thoughts, conversation and conduct—and staying in living contact with Him. New Testament holiness isn’t perfectly keeping a set of religious rules and regulations. It’s behaving on the outside like the righteous new creation He’s made you to be on the inside. It’s the result of fellowshipping with God in the Word and in prayer and walking in the spirit with Him. That’s the easy way to walk free! Legalistic rule-keeping is hard, but if you “walk in the Spirit…ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh” (Galatians 5:16). Don’t Hang Out in the Darkness When you put your daily time with God first place in your life, you won’t even want to sin. His Word and His presence will separate you from your desire for it. You won’t want to go to the bar anymore and get drunk with your old, unsaved friends. Instead, you’ll want to come out from among them and be clean! “But Gloria, I thought we were supposed to love sinners.” We are. But loving them and ministering to them is one thing. Fellowshipping with them on their level is another. We want to help people whose lives are all messed up, but we don’t want to get messed up with them. We want to draw them into the light, not hang out with them in the darkness. * * * * article continues on p. 30 * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * ********** ADVERTISEMENT ********** FEB "BVOV" Broadcast Calendar Featuring: Kenneth Copeland, Gloria Copeland, George Pearsons, Terri Pearsons Sun., Feb. 2: Faith Affects Physical Things Kenneth Copeland Feb. 3-7 Accessing the Faith of God Kenneth Copeland Sun., Feb. 9: Truth Changes Circumstances Kenneth Copeland Feb. 10-14 God, the Covenant and the Contradiction Kenneth Copeland Sun., Feb. 16: Believe With Faith, Not Feelings Kenneth Copeland Feb. 17-21 Keys to Receiving Your Covenant Promises Kenneth Copeland Sun., Feb. 23: Victory Is Won With Words Kenneth Copeland Feb. 24-28 The First Wisdom of Faith Kenneth Copeland Broadcasts subject to change without notice ______________________________ WATCH ON: Roku® dish® CHANNEL 265 apple tv® 4th Generation GOVICTORY.COM GOVICTORY APP YouTube® KCM.ORG PODCAST Daystar Network Trinity Broadcasting Network (weekdays only) WATCH THE SPANISH BROADCAST ENLACE or ES.KCM.ORG kcm.org/watch/find-a-station _______________________________ BVOV : 29
