Passing It On “In the fall of 2015, after I received my healing in August, it was slow at the club and we were talking to the bartender,” Jenny remembers. “Two men came in, and we gave them cookies and left. As we were leaving, the two men came out. I heard one tell the other that he’d hurt his back. “The Lord told me to tell them my story and pray for them. We parked the car and I told them my story. I said, ‘What He’s done for me, He’ll do for you.’ We led them both in the sinner’s prayer. Tears streamed down their faces as they gave their lives to Jesus. Then we prayed for his back.” “That club we just left,” he said, “I used to own it.” That same month, Jenny went with her cousins to a prayer meeting in Branson, Mo. While there, they had lunch with Lynne Hammond. Encouraged by her cousins to tell Lynne about her healing, Jenny told her the story. “The next year, before Faith Explosion, Lynne called and said she wanted me to give my testimony. She’d told Gloria about my healing, but they wanted to surprise Kenneth. I took my braces with me and gave my testimony.” Another year passed and Kenneth and Gloria returned for the 2017 Faith Explosion. At one point during the service, Kenneth asked, “Is Jenny Kuhne here?” Jenny stood up. As tears streamed down her face, Brother Copeland sang a revised version of the Happy Birthday Song. He said: “Happy Birthday to Your New Vertebra.” “I’m so grateful for the powerful ministry of faith and miracles that operates through Kenneth Copeland Ministries,” Jenny says. “My life will never be the same.” Each year, Jenny celebrates the birth of her new vertebra and her miracle. She celebrates the call of God on her life. She celebrates dancers, DJs, managers, bartenders and patrons—all people Jesus loved so much that He died for them. She celebrates changed lives, and her own life that is so much richer because she’s The Cookie Lady. But they struggle with how to do it. In the early 1970s I learned the how to of it. It came as a revelation. In one moment I realized I was not walking in love. At the same time, Kenneth E. Hagin showed me how to do it—and I did it. It saved my marriage, my ministry, my life. Now I can tell you how to do it, and it will do the same for you. How It Happened In 1967, a friend newly born again told me she was going to receive the Holy Spirit and speak with tongues. “Oh, no you’re not,” I said. “That is of the devil.” I simply parroted a headline in our denominational magazine, “Speaking in Tongues Is of the Devil.” The next week my friend and I were speaking in tongues. Someone took us to a seminar where Kenneth E. Hagin was teaching on what the Bible says about the Baptism in the Holy Spirit. He’d seen a vision of denominational people coming into the fullness of the Holy Spirit. And he was instructed to teach them. In 1970, I became an editor for Brother Hagin. An early book I edited was "The Woman Question." I’d known from childhood I was called to preach. But my denomination did not allow women to preach. Over the typewriter, I wept to the Lord, “You mean I can do what I’ve felt called to do and not get in trouble at the judgment seat of Christ?” BVOV : 21
