A Whole Lot of Right You have a lot to be thankful for. Remember, any time you experience something that’s not quite right in your life, you’ve got a whole lot more things that are right. If you forget to be thankful for the good things, you’ll darken your soul—darken your heart. I’ve found that the way to get revelation is to be thankful for what I already have. I focus on what I know. I talk about what I understand. When I talk about what I’m thankful for and what I understand, I begin to receive understanding in other areas. But if I focus on what I don’t know, things get darker. I learned this during my first year at Rhema. My wife and I invited some friends over for dinner. After dinner, we started discussing scriptures. We got to a passage that none of us understood and then we discussed it for two hours. That night after they left, the Lord spoke to me. He said, 'Do you want to understand that passage?' I said, “Yes, Sir.” He said, 'Well, you’re further from it now than ever.' Why? Because we were only talking about how difficult and hard to understand that passage was. Remember that meditating on what you don’t know leads to darkness and feeds unthankfulness. Don’t emphasize what you don’t have, what you don’t know and what you’re not doing. So what should you do if you have problems? Find something to be thankful for and start giving thanks for it. It’s the way to more revelation. Start thinking about what you know. As you meditate on what God has done, He will bring you more revelation. Why? Because you are esteeming what He has already given you. You’re valuing it. God wants you to become an expert at enjoying life in Him. He wants you to savor life and live the zoe life today. If you want God to train you to live a life of thanksgiving, pray this prayer: “Father God, teach me how to cultivate a lifestyle of thanksgiving. Give me discernment and understanding so that I do not fail to thank You. I want to appreciate everything You give me and everything You do for me. Then I will act on it. I will give You praise and thanksgiving. And I will be enlarged and increased. And You will be glorified more and more in me!” V Keith Moore is founder and president of Moore Life Ministries and Faith Life Church in both Branson, Mo., and Sarasota, Fla. Are you born again? I’m thinking almost everyone reading this has answered, “Yes, Gloria, I am born again!” If so, I hope you will continue reading and be reminded of who you really are as a born-again child of your heavenly Father. If you answered, “No,” or “I don’t really know,” I hope you will read on and discover the tremendous relationship that awaits you as a child of God. The life of a born-again son or daughter of God is, to me, the only way to live. It’s the only true life. God created man (that includes you and me) in His image. You are a triune (three-in-one) person—spirit, soul and body. Your body is made up of the elements of earth. God created every part of your body to cooperate with and thrive in the earth in which you live. It holds up and carries you throughout your life. You have a soul created by God to help you communicate within your world. Your soul is made up of your mind, your will and your emotions. By your soul you interact in your life and express yourself. * * * * article continues on p. 20 * * * * BVOV : 19
